PENERAPAN MEDIA BACA BIG BOOK SEBAGAI BAHAN AJAR PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA SISWA KELAS 1 SD NEGERI 89 PALEMBANG

The aim of the research is to enhance the reading skills of first-grade students at SD Negeri 89 Palembang through the use of Big Book media. The research problem formulation is focused on how the implementation of Big Book reading media serves as a teaching material for Indonesian language for first-grade students at SD Negeri 89 Palembang. The research methodology employed is Qualitative Research. Data collection techniques include observation tests, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research results, it is concluded that, according to the observation results using the research instrument, a majority of reading techniques, utilizing the Big Book media consisting of three main indicators in the study recognizing letters, spelling letters, and reading combined syllables, show that, on average, first-grade students at SD Negeri 89 Palembang encounter difficulties in correctly understanding the initial reading techniques.
